Marvel’s Spider-Man Demo at E3

Published

on

Sony Entertainment and Insomniac Games swing on by at E3 2017 with another action-adventure game to add to the list of upcoming titles- Marvel’s Spider-Man.

Similar to the style of Rocksteady’s Batman: Arkham series, players take control of Spider-Man in an open world setting of New York City. Players utilize parkour and web-shooters to maneuver around buildings and stop criminals in their tracks ranging from hand-to-hand combat to slinging nearby objects towards enemies. After acquiring the titular character’s license, Insomnia Games is proud to present it’s own take on Spider-Man’s lore.

With the arrival of Marvel’s Spider-Man: Homecoming on July 7, Sony took the opportunity to promote the game in relation to the film’s upcoming release. However, the game will not be a shot-for-shot recreation of the film. Instead, the story focuses on Spider-Man’s battle against the Inner Demons and their leader, the mysterious Mr. Negative. Aside from The Kingpin, there are no signs of other villains from Spider-Man’s rogue’s gallery. Let’s hope that Insomnia Games will present us with their interpretation of Spider-Man’s greatest villains.

Marvel’s Spider-Man is planned to be released around the first quarter of 2018 for PlayStation 4.

Nintendo Unveils Mario Odyssey at E3

Published

on

During E3 2017, Nintendo’s conference presents a new chapter for one its popular game series – Super Mario Odyssey.

If gamers want to take a break from the dark and cinematic action adventure games, Nintendo’s upcoming game provides players the opportunity to have fun in the world of Super Mario. Not only does the gameplay feel similar to the classic Super Mario 64 with its free roaming exploration, but also, Nintendo adds more features to the game. Instead of jumping on the heads of Goombas and Koopa Troopas, Mario has a magic hat that when thrown on an enemy, a creature, or an object, Mario will inherit those powers and appearances. From stomping around as a T-Rex to flying as a Bullet Bill, the possibilities are endless in the game’s open world environment.

In addition to the throwing hat ability, co-operative gameplay allows a second player to become the hat and provides cover from multiple enemies and can find extra powers for the other player. While there is no mention of a storymode or a campaign, Super Mario Odyssey follows in the footsteps of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild where it is important for the players to explore a variety of locations at their own leisure.

Super Mario Odyssey is planned for on October 7. The game will be exclusive to the Nintendo Switch.

Metro: Exodus announced at Xbox’s E3 Press Conference

Published

on

Metro: Exodus was premiered at Xbox’s E3 Press Conference yesterday, and the hype train is already in full effect regarding this apocalyptic sandbox survival horror. Based on the novels Metro 2033 and Metro 2035 by Dmitry Glukhovsky, this newest addition to the Metro series will take gamers to new extremes as they try to survive post-apocalypse Russia.

Metro: Exodus will be coming to the Xbox One, PC, and PlayStation 4 sometime in 2018, so gamers unfortunately have a while to wait before getting their hands on this ambitious title. This game will feature a complete open world that was absent in previous titles in this series. Footage from the trailer shows the Player-Character wading through a ruined tunnel filled with skeletons until finally emerging in the beautiful open world.

Gameplay seems to be revolved around survival, and survival in post-apocalypse Russia is no easy task. The Player-Character must be handy with knives and a crossbow if they want a chance to survive the mutated creatures that viciously hunt them. The gorgeous visuals will likely stun and inspire fear for even the most hardened of gamers.

Metro: Exodus will feature visual enhancements on the unveiled Xbox One X. With 4k graphics, the X will allow players to experience a more immersive and thrilling apocalyptic-survival experience then ever before.
